About Me

About Mason
Hello, my name is Mason Benning and I am a born and raised Calgarian. I have been a photographer and videographer in the city for about 10 years.
My love of photography and video started in highschool and eventually led to a certificate of photography from Mount Royal University then a Bachelors Degree in Journalism (my main interest being in photography and video of course).
Throughout my photography career, I have acquired extensive experience in photo and video production as well as editing through a variety of paid and volunteer positions such as:
-
Photographer and Media Specialist at the Institute for Community Prosperity and Trico Changemakers Studio.
-
Photojournalist and videographer for the Calgary Journal.
-
Photojournalist and videographer for Solent Journalism in England.
-
Videographer and Video Editing Coordinator for CIR Realty in Calgary.
-
Photographer for events such as The Art Of: Leadership for Women.
(Fun fact: this event included the first full portrait session I had done to this point and it was a photo-op with academy award winning actress Geena Davis.)
-
Portfolio and performance photography and video for dance performance.
-
Portrait photographer for families and individuals.
